Adventure Edge - Dive Expedition to RMS Titanic

A century has sailed by since the luxury steamship RMS Titanic met her tragic end in the North Atlantic, plunging two miles to the ocean floor after sideswiping an iceberg during her maiden voyage from Southampton to New York. A legend even before she sailed, her passengers were a mixture of the wealthiest, basking in the elegance of first class accommodations, and immigrants packed into steerage. The Titanic is considered the world’s best known shipwreck. Today, more than 100 years after the sinking, the Titanic Survey Expedition will allow a select number of individuals to explore the vessel that was once the height of opulence, but whose journey would end tragically with the loss of more than 1,500 lives. Beginning in 2018, OceanGate Expeditions, founded and financed by a team of undersea explorers, scientists, and filmmakers dedicated to manned exploration of the deep ocean, will conduct a series of week-long manned submersible survey missions to the wreck of the RMS Titanic. The aim of these missions is to collect images, videos and sonar data to provide an objective basis to assess the decay of the wreck over time and help document and preserve its submerged history. This is your chance to be part of history and to join the crew on an authentic scientific survey expedition. Mission Specialists are adventurers or explorers who financially support the expedition and join the crew for an 8-day mission at sea, make one submersible dive, and assist the expedition crew in one or more support roles aboard the surface vessel and aboard Cyclops 2, such as sonar operation, laser scanning, navigation, communications, camera operations, data logging, support or observe surface operations, or monitor dive operations and other expedition activities with closed-circuit video or audio feeds. A limited number of mission specialist crew positions is available on each mission. Are you interested in becoming a Mission Specialist? Download detailed information here.
