Discover the highlights of Egypt's Nile Valley: the pyramids, citadel, mosques and museums in Cairo, the towering Pharaonic temples and Valley of the Kings near Luxor and the masterpiece of a temple Ramses II built in Abu Simbel. Cruise the Nile before flying to Amman in Jordan and travelling to the spectacular desertscapes of Wadi Rum. No trip of Jordan is of course complete without a trip to the Rose City of Petra, where we'll spend two nights before setting off for the Dead Sea, the mosaics of Madaba and the Roman ruins of Jerash.

Egypt, Jordan

Everything went mostly well on both the Egyptian and Jordanian segments of the trip. In Egypt visiting the Pyramids at Giza, the tombs at the Valley of the Kings, and the Ramses 2 Temples at Abu Simbel were the highlights. Also enjoyed our small-boat sailing evening on the Nile at Aswan and our Nubian and Cairo home visits. Travelling in Egypt can be a bit hectic but the must-see aspects of the historical sites make it all worthwhile. Our guide was good, very enthusiastic.
Jordan is a more organized country: they actually have lanes on their roads. Highlights were Wadi Rum and Petra as you might expect. The guide wasn’t the best, seemed to be always tired and was struggling with having to fast during Ramadan. Made a couple of mistakes related to the trip itinerary.
We spent 3 days in Jerusalem and 2 days in Tel Aviv on our own which was a nice add-on to complete our Middle East adventure.
