Trip was great! We were very lucky to see a total of 32 distinct tigers over the three parks (the most being in Bandhavghar). The group also saw 2 leopards and 1 sloth bear. Each person saw a different number of animals given the jeeps were not usually together. We started off strong with all 4 jeeps having tiger sightings on the first morning safari. The least amount was seen in Kanha. I have several videos of tigers crossing in front of our jeep and walking towards our jeep. We were definitely in the right place at the right time a few times! Extra safaris were available for us. Several of us did them all to increase our chances to see tigers. We were lucky to see one in a night safari which was an extra. In hindsight I don’t think I would have done as many extra safaris as there were 2 in the late afternoon and 2 in the night. There were definitely less sightings in the late afternoon sessions in general due to the heat. Some found the early mornings tough as we left the resorts at 5:15am and returned around 11:30.
The resorts were pretty good though I think we all agreed that th3 food was best in Pench. All offered buffet and most of the food I felt was a bit bland - definitely for tourists.
The start and end hotel in Delhi was ok - the rooms were good but there wasn’t much around it and it would have been nice to have some amenities (pool, spa) to help with jet lag on arrival. Since there wasn’t much around, I booked myself a couple of half day tours on Saturday and Sunday which I found on Tripadvisor. I enjoyed both.
The overnight train to Agra was better than expected (I don’t have fond memories of the overnight train from 25+ years ago).

This immersive journey through central India offers a rare chance to observe Bengal tigers in their natural habitat, while supporting vital conservation efforts. Beginning in Delhi, the adventure quickly moves into the wild, with visits to three of India’s premier tiger reserves: Pench, Kanha, and Bandhavgarh. Across 15 expertly guided game drives, the focus is on tracking the elusive tiger, but there's also ample opportunity to spot leopards, sloth bears, monkeys, and an array of birdlife. Each park offers a different landscape and pace, from the forested hills of Pench, inspiration for *The Jungle Book*, to the sprawling grasslands of Kanha and the rugged terrain of Bandhavgarh, known for having India’s highest tiger density.
In between wildlife encounters, there's time to relax and reflect with fellow travellers. The journey continues with a scenic train ride to Agra, where a visit to the iconic Taj Mahal and Agra Fort adds historical depth to the experience. Before returning to Delhi, the group visits the Wildlife SOS Elephant Conservation Centre, an inspiring initiative dedicated to animal welfare and education. This itinerary balances wildlife, culture, and responsible tourism in a meaningful and memorable way.
