Mid-July sees the Great Northern Arts Festival in Inuvik with world-class Indigenous art and excellent dance performances. Late July, Dawson City hosts its famous Music Festival. Fort McPherson's Midway Lake Music Festival takes place on the August long weekend. Early September, after the first frost, is a good time to go cranberry-picking, while late summer and early fall you may see the Aurora Borealis.
