Algeria’s allure unfolds with a journey that begins in Algiers, a city layered with Mediterranean charm, Ottoman heritage, and colonial-era elegance. After soaking in its historic Kasbah and sweeping coastal boulevards, we travel west to explore the Roman ruins of Tipaza and Cherchell before heading south into the Sahara, where the architecture and traditions of the Ibadi Mozabites in Ghardaia’s M’Zab Valley reveal a deeply rooted cultural tapestry.

We continue inland to the ruins of Beni Hammad and the Roman city of Timgad, where well-preserved arches, forums and theatres echo ancient imperial grandeur. In Constantine, perched dramatically above deep ravines, Ottoman palaces and suspended bridges create a striking cityscape. A visit to Djemila showcases Roman ingenuity in a mountainous setting, followed by Setif and its exquisite mosaics.

Returning to Algiers, a city tour includes palaces, Ottoman mosques, and monuments before flying to Djanet to begin our desert expedition. Over the next few days, we traverse vast Saharan landscapes by 4WD, camp under starlit skies, and walk among prehistoric rock art in the UNESCO-listed Tassili n'Ajjer plateau.

From bustling cities to the timeless serenity of the desert, this 16-day journey through Algeria offers a rare and rewarding immersion into North Africa’s diverse heritage.
