Algeria, rich in cultural and archaeological heritage, is a destination well worth discovering. This ten-day tour takes us through a fascinating journey of history, from the Mediterranean coast to the vast Sahara. We start in Algiers, a city with roots going back to Carthaginian times, where we explore the Kasbah and admire the colonial architecture. Our travels then lead us to the Roman ruins of Tipaza and Cherchell, each offering a glimpse into the past. On the edge of the Sahara, we visit the M'Zab Valley, a UNESCO World Heritage site, to see the unique hilltop towns founded by the Ibadi Muslims. The warm hospitality of the Mozabite people enhances our experience, with a home-cooked meal adding a personal touch to our exploration.

Continuing on, we visit the impressive Roman city of Timgad and the ancient fortresses of Beni Hammad. In Constantine, known as the "city of bridges," we admire Ottoman architecture and wander through bustling souks. Djemila, with its stunning Roman ruins, offers a glimpse into the imperial past before we return to Algiers for a final tour of the city. This journey provides a unique opportunity to immerse oneself in the diverse histories and cultures of Algeria, from the Berbers to the Romans, leaving lasting memories of this lesser-explored gem.

Adventure Coordinators Insider Tip:

Keep in mind that Algeria's tourism infrastructure is still developing, and it sees far fewer tourists than its neighbouring countries such as Morocco or Tunisia. Because of this, service levels may differ from what you're accustomed to in those destinations.
