This 8-day adventure through Belize and Guatemala combines history, culture, and natural beauty. Begin in Belize City, where you’ll explore local museums and enjoy a group dinner. The next day, visit the Lamanai Archaeological Site, a Maya ruin accessible by boat, and enjoy a night in Orange Walk. In San Ignacio, join local Maya women at a co-op for a cooking class, learning about traditional culinary practices while enjoying the dishes you’ve prepared. Opt to trek to the Actun Tunichil Muknal Cave to see pottery and skeletal remains left from Mayan rituals over a thousand years ago.
On day four, cross into Guatemala to explore the impressive Tikal National Park, home to towering Maya pyramids surrounded by rainforest wildlife. The following day, enjoy free time to hike to the Actun Tunichil Muknal caves, where ancient Maya relics and crystallized skeletons await.
Your journey continues on the stunning island of Caye Caulker, where you’ll unwind on pristine beaches and snorkel over colorful reefs. With no cars and a relaxed pace, Caye Caulker offers the perfect spot to explore by bike or paddleboard, or simply enjoy local seafood and lobster. After eight days of adventure and relaxation, the tour concludes, leaving you with memories of both ancient wonders and tropical paradise.

Adventure Coordinators Insider Tip:

One of the most unforgettable tours I have done leads to and through the Actun Tunichil Muknal (ATM) cave near San Ignacio.  It had me wade through cool underground streams, scramble up limestone ridges and discover a hidden world sacred to the Mayans.
