Embark on an unforgettable adventure to Machu Picchu, where the rugged Inca Trail meets comfort and luxury. Hike through stunning mountain landscapes, cloud forests, and ancient ruins, all while enjoying delicious meals and soothing massages. Arriving at Machu Picchu in the afternoon, you’ll have time for iconic photos before staying overnight in nearby Aguas Calientes. The next morning, enjoy an in-depth guided tour of this ancient wonder.
The journey begins in Cuzco, the former heart of the Inca Empire. Take time to explore the city’s rich fusion of Inca and Spanish colonial architecture, but pace yourself to adjust to the high altitude. After a city tour, visit key sites like the Qorikancha, Cuzco Cathedral, and the massive Sacsayhuaman fortress.
From Cuzco, head to the Sacred Valley, where you’ll visit the Pisac ruins and the royal estate of Ollantaytambo before beginning your trek along the Inca Trail. The hike follows the Urubamba River, with stops at the archaeological site of Llactapata before reaching your first camp in Wayllabamba. Along the way, enjoy hearty meals prepared by your chef and relax in well-appointed tents.
As you continue along the trail, tackle the climb to Dead Woman’s Pass, the highest point on the trek, then descend to the scenic Pacaymayu valley. The following day, you’ll pass the impressive ruins of Sayacmarca and Phuyupatamarca, with spectacular views of the surrounding mountains before glamping at Phuyupatamarca, high above the cloud forest.
On the final stretch, descend the famous Inca steps to Wiñay Wayna and the Sun Gate, where you’ll get your first full view of Machu Picchu. After taking in the stunning scenery, head down to Aguas Calientes for a well-deserved rest.
The next day, return to Machu Picchu for a guided tour of this ancient wonder before catching the train back to Cuzco. Your adventure concludes with a final breakfast, though you can extend your stay to further explore the area if desired.
This trek along the Inca Trail offers a perfect blend of adventure, culture, and luxury, making it a truly unforgettable experience.
