Steep mountains rising from the turquoise Mediterranean, slopes covered in lemon groves, white-washed villages lining deep valleys where they meet the ocean. Explore covered alleys leading to hidden courtyards and sit down for a glass of wine or some gelato. Follow ancient footpaths and stairs up the hills to hamlets tucked away in forest-covered hills. Hike up to a vantage point and marvel at the views over this, the Amalfi Coast. This is one of the best coastal hikes in Italy.

Adventure Coordinators Insider Tip:

As you will already have done all the splendid hikes in the area, I found a good way to spend your free day on this trip is to take a day trip to the island of Capri.

Itinerary

DAY 1 Start Bomerano
DAY 2 Hike Monte Tre Calli for views of the coast
DAY 3 Walk down to Amalfi; free afternoon
DAY 4 Visit Pompeii and crater of Vesuvius
DAY 5 Walk the forests of the Valle delle Ferriere
DAY 6 Free day for personal explorations
DAY 7 Walk of the Gods to Positano; by boat to Amalfi
DAY 8 End Bomerano

The trip was great! Highly recommended. Our guide Severio was opinionated, attentive and knowledgeable - everything you want in an Italian guide. Pasta-making lessons, visits to Pompei and a mozzarella factory, and plenty of pit stops for lattes and Prosecco made the trip. I had lovely travel companions, mostly from the UK. The hotel 2TORRI was clean, the breakfasts generous, and the family and staff who run it were exceptionally warm and professional.
My only comment is that the trip is described as easy-to-moderate. The hikes are definitely in the moderate range as there is a lot of climbing on uneven paths... and you need walking poles for the vast majority of the walks we did.
