Into the Maya Heartland - Guatemala and the Yucatan Peninsula

This premium adventure tour of Mexico's Yucatan, Guatemala and Honduras takes you deep into the Maya Heartland, visiting some of the most famous Mayan ruins as well as lesser known sites. Starting off in the pretty colonial town of Antigua, Guatemala, we cross the border into Honduras and drive to the remarkable UNESCO World Heritage Site of Copan, containing the greatest collection of Maya sculpture anywhere.
Back in Guatemala, we travel via the small ancient trading site of Quirigua and Rio Dulce, to Tikal, one of the greatest of all Maya cities, set in remote jungle. Next we visit Bonampak, famed for its incredible murals, before exploring Palenque, one of the most beautiful ancient sites anywhere in Latin America.
We travel to the stunningly well-preserved colonial city of Campeche before visiting at Uxmal, famed for its Maya palaces and pyramids, and Merida with its colonial heritage and lively plazas.
On our penultimate day we visit the famous pyramids, palaces, temples and ball court of Chichen Itza, one of the New Seven Wonders of the World, before ending our trip in Cancun.
