This 11-week overland journey through Central Asia takes you across all seven Stans: Pakistan, Afghanistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, and Kazakhstan. Travelling in a custom-built truck, you’ll explore the region’s rich history, diverse cultures, and stunning landscapes.
Starting in Lahore, Pakistan, you’ll visit historical sites like the Lahore Fort and Badshahi Mosque before continuing along the Karakoram Highway. Highlights include treks in Lulusar-Dudipatsar National Park and Fairy Meadows, with views of Nanga Parbat. In Afghanistan, explore Kabul’s markets and the Sakhi Shrine, and visit Bamyan’s Buddhist caves, the Bandi Amir Lakes, and Herat’s ancient architecture.
The journey then takes you to Turkmenistan, where you’ll see the ruins of Merv, the marble city of Ashgabat, and the Darvaza Gas Craters. In Uzbekistan, visit the historic towns of Moynaq, Khiva, Bukhara, and Samarkand, home to Silk Road landmarks.
Tajikistan’s mountains and lakes, including Iskanderkul, lead to the Pamir Highway’s high-altitude scenery. In Kyrgyzstan, experience the alpine beauty of Osh, Song-Kol Lake, and Issyk-Kul Lake, with a chance to camp with nomads. The trip concludes in Kazakhstan, where you’ll explore Charyn Canyon, Almaty, and the futuristic city of Nur-Sultan.
