Puglia, the sun-drenched heel of Italy’s boot, offers a relaxed exploration of its rich culinary and cultural traditions. This tour brings you through the region’s ancient towns and scenic landscapes, where you’ll savour local specialties, visit artisanal producers, and enjoy leisurely walks. Starting in Altamura, renowned for its DOP-certified bread, you’ll witness the art of bread-making and sample its warm, hearty flavours. The region’s food culture is further explored with a hands-on pasta-making lesson, where you’ll prepare the iconic orecchiette pasta, followed by a delicious lunch made from your creations.
As you wander through Alta Murgia National Park, the stunning Pulo di Altamura sinkhole and its prehistoric significance come into focus. From Castel del Monte’s majestic symmetry to Matera’s ancient troglodyte dwellings, the walks are complemented by local tastings—cheese, olive oil, and wine—bringing the landscapes and history to life. In Cisternino, you’ll enjoy the unique experience of purchasing lunch from a butcher before indulging in a tasting at an olive oil mill.
The final stretch takes you to Monopoli and Alberobello, where you’ll stroll through charming towns and visit the iconic trulli houses. Whether tasting local wines or enjoying the coastal atmosphere, this slow-paced tour offers an authentic taste of Puglia.
