Your river cruise through The Netherlands and Belgium shows you many of the highlights but also takes you through some lesser-travelled yet equally rewarding rivers. Starting in Amsterdam, where over the course of your cruise you return several times, you sail to one of the largest ports in the world, Rotterdam. Enjoy a harbour cruise before continuing on to Antwerp in Belgium for sightseeing or a bike ride.
Next is old Ghent, a splendid town where you have a choice of visiting St. Baaf's Cathedral or walking around with your adventure host.
Turning north again, back to The Netherlands, Middelburg and Veere are delightful traditional towns, used as a base to visit the impressive Delta Works, the dams and dykes that keep the country safe.
Visiting the fortress town of Willemstad you return to Amsterdam. It is your base to visit Keukenhof Gardens or the flower auction in Aalsmeer or you can choose to walk around or take a canal cruise.
In the old port town of Enkhuizen you can walk or bike with your adventure guide and it is your base to visit the famous tulip fields, the Zuiderzee Open Air Museum and the northern province of Friesland, where the old planetarium in Franeker and town of Sneek await.
Via the new city of Lelystad where at the Batavia shipyard a replica East Indiaman is being built, you sail down the IJssel river to Arnhem. Here you have a choice of visiting the Airborne Museum commemorating WW2's operation Market Garden or to the Kröller-Müller Museum.
Lastly, more time is spent in Rotterdam before returning once again to the capital of The Netherlands, Amsterdam.
