What Is an Urban Adventure?

Urban Adventures is the day-tour division of Intrepid Travel. These half-day and full-day experiences are designed to complement the multi-day journeys many of you already take. They fit seamlessly before your main tour begins, after it ends, or during an extended stay in a gateway city. Think of them as curated, small-group deep dives into the heart of a destination.

At its core, Urban Adventures are locally led explorations focused on culture, cuisine, and everyday life. These are not panoramic bus tours. You might join a street food crawl through Hanoi’s Old Quarter, sampling pho and banh mi from family-run vendors. In Marrakech, you could navigate the souks with a guide who explains traditional crafts and introduces you to spice merchants. In Lisbon, perhaps it’s a culinary walk through historic neighbourhoods paired with regional wines. In Mexico City, it might mean exploring colourful markets and learning how to prepare authentic tacos alongside a local host.

Your complimentary Urban Adventure can be redeemed in the same destination as your Intrepid tour, provided one is available there. New cities are added regularly. If there isn’t an option in your tour destination, you have flexibility. You may use it in another city along your journey — perhaps during a stopover — or even save it for a completely different trip. Many Canadian and American cities also offer Urban Adventures. If necessary, you have one year from your Intrepid tour booking date to redeem it elsewhere.

Most Urban Adventures fall under the $100 USD per person value. Should you choose one that exceeds that amount, you would simply pay the difference.

2. Browse available experiences on Urban Adventures to choose your preferred tour.

3. Let me know which Urban Adventure you would like to reserve (including the date)

4. I will confirm you and apply the complimentary credit of up to $100 USD per person.

5. If the selected tour exceeds $100 USD per person, simply pay the difference.

6. Receive your confirmation details and enjoy your Urban Adventure

When you’re ready, go to the Urban Adventures website and select the experience that best complements your itinerary.
