Join me on an expedition cruise to Greenland in the summer of 2025. Embark on a 13-day Arctic expedition across the Denmark Strait and around the east and south coast of Greenland. During the voyage we will make landings and cruise the coast by zodiac, to experience the best of this beautiful remote land.
During sailing time there will be an enriching on-board learning program. These sessions provide insights into Greenland’s archaeology, history, culture, and wildlife, preparing you for an unforgettable journey.

Discover the remote beauty of East Greenland by ship, Zodiac, and on foot.
Your first glimpse of this rarely visited region will reveal a dramatic coastline, carved by countless fjords and, at times, adorned with drifting pack ice.
Whether exploring onshore, trekking across the land, or observing from the ship, our expert expedition team will be there to share their deep knowledge and insights. Join them on deck to watch for Arctic wildlife, including polar bears, seals, and humpback whales. Their interpretation and guidance will enhance your understanding of the landscapes and wildlife, fostering a deeper connection to the Arctic environment we explore.

Ikerasassuaq
Spend time out on deck as our experts search for opportunities to go ashore along this remarkable stretch of coastline.
Ikerasassuaq (Prince Christian Sound) is one of the world’s most striking waterways, where the Irminger and Labrador Seas meet amidst the islands of the Cape Farewell Archipelago.
In this serene setting, rugged mountain peaks rise dramatically above calm waters fed by calving glaciers, offering a memorable glimpse into Greenland’s extraordinary natural beauty.

The Viking Settlements
Explore the Kujataa UNESCO World Heritage Site, where Norse history meets modern Greenlandic life. Jagged mountains rise above lush pastures and sheep farms, which sit beside striking ice fjords. In southern Greenland, fertile land supports agriculture, with thriving farms and gardens contrasting sharply with the icy landscapes covering much of the country.

Relax in Greenland’s only heated outdoor spa, a geothermal oasis with views of icebergs and mountain peaks. This spring, cherished for centuries, is tied to a legend of Leif Erikson, who is said to have bathed here before setting sail for uncharted lands. The water, naturally warmed by geothermal activity, maintains a soothing 38°C (100°F).
At Hvalsey, walk among the ruins of a prominent Norse settlement from the early centuries of the last millennium. Hvalsey Church, Greenland’s best-preserved Norse ruin, marks the site of the final recorded event from the original Norse colony—a wedding held in 1408.
Visit Brattahlíð, another UNESCO World Heritage Site in Greenland’s most fertile region. Tour reconstructed Norse buildings, including a church and Viking longhouse, in the former home of Erik the Red. Today, Greenlandic Inuit manage the sheep farms first cultivated by Norse settlers, preserving this historic connection to the land.

Into the north
Travel north along Greenland's west coast, exploring the Sermersooq region by Zodiac or on foot. This area boasts towering mountains, glaciers, and deep fjords, with a history of human habitation dating back over 1,500 years. Keep an eye out for *nattoralik* (white-tailed eagles), seabirds, and marine mammals amid the lush vegetation of southwest Greenland.
Visit Nuuk, Greenland’s vibrant capital, and explore the Greenland National Museum, home to the Qilakitsoq mummies. The city blends Danish colonial architecture with modern art, shopping, and cafés.
Kangerlussuatsiaq Fjord, also known as "the fjord of eternity," lives up to its name with calving glaciers, bird cliffs, and cascading streams. Discover this stunning glacial landscape by ship and Zodiac. The waters here remain relatively warm, thanks to the West Greenland Current and the region's subarctic location.
Your journey continues through Kangerlussuaq Fjord (Søndre Strømfjord), crossing the Arctic Circle to reach Kangerlussuaq, a former US Air Force base. From there, transfer to the airport for your return flight to Toronto, completing your Arctic adventure.
